I was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer only a week prior to an 11-hour surgery on April 24, 2019. I spent 16 days in the hospital and was lucky enough to come home the Friday before Mother’s Day to see my children, Sophia and Gavin. II joined the Teal Trot 5k to motivate me to walk every day!! I started with just a few steps in the hospital with a walker. Within of few days I kicked the walker to the curb. When I got home, I could only walk around my house and then ventured outside. Today I made it to 2.4 miles!! Even in my sickest moments I hear a voice inside saying MOVE!!
