My Story…
In 2015, I fell down - a lot, and literally – as I was diagnosed with epilepsy.
But more importantly, I fell through the cracks.
When I needed help the most, it wasn’t there for me, or for my family.
While Calgary has world-class neurological health care, Calgary doesn’t currently have the level of social services needed for those impacted by epilepsy – but I, and others, are working hard to put these necessary social services in place.
I struggled for years to adjust to my new life with epilepsy. I never want anyone else to fall through the cracks again.
It’s why I joined the Board of the Epilepsy Association of Calgary in 2018, it’s why I became the Chair of the Board in 2019, it’s why I’ve pushed major change in the organization, and it’s why I’m running this half-marathon in 2020.
I’m aiming to raise $5,000 to help move the Epilepsy Association of Calgary towards becoming a leading epilepsy association in Canada.
Description
For the past 64 years the Epilepsy Association of Calgary has provided Community Education and Support Programs for people whose lives are touched by epilepsy. It is through the kind support of people like you that we are able to carry out our mission: to support independence, quality of life and community participation for people with and affected by epilepsy.
Thank you for helping make a difference in the lives of 20,000 people in our city!

We are literally a brain in a vat. The vat is your skull. Everything you think is real is an electrical signal. Feels so real though.
