My Story…
RUN DAY - JULY 21ST
I started with Synapcity at the Civics Boot Camp in spring 2019 - through that program, I gained a keen understanding of how our city functions and how I can positively contribute to making Ottawa a better place. I joined Synapcity's Board last fall because I wanted to help the organization build on its amazing work and expand our impact into the community.
The Tamarack Race Weekend is an Ottawa institution that, like so many others, is being forced to reinvent itself in this pandemic. I've chosen to run in this race to show that we can still make a contribution to our communities, even when we're being kept apart. I'm also thrilled to be supporting Synapcity's fundraising efforts, ensuring that we can continue to deliver valuable services & programs in Ottawa.

Description
The SPCO is a community development organisation: We lead and support community action on issues affecting the social and economic wellbeing of Ottawa residents. Our priorities are community economic development, creating inclusion, providing access to basics, and supporting the voluntary sector. We’ve been around since 1928 and have incubated important services like United Way Ottawa, ParaTranspo, the Youth Services Bureau, the Council on Aging, the Alliance to End Homelessness, and Just Food. We are proud to include Synapcity and Youth Action Now among our sponsored organisations. Help us continue to make a difference.
