My Story…
I have created a team to run in memory of my sweet nephew, Mason, who was a tough little boy who endured so much in his short life and is missed by so many. 2020 will be the 2nd annual Mason Memorial Run as part of Goldy's Run. Mason, was born at the U of M Children’s hospital in June of 2017. Prior to his birth, he was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), which is a birth defect where the left side of the heart does not develop enough to function after birth. Sadly after complications from an open-heart surgery, he passed away in July of 2018. By running the Goldy's run and fundraising for the U of M Children’s hospital and clinics, I hope to raise money to allow for additional research of HLHS and other congenital heart defects.
