What is the Compass to Care Quaranteam for Kids with Cancer Virtual Race?. Compass to Care's Quaranteam for Kids with Cancer Virtual Race is a fun run that raises money to help kids with cancer travel to treatment. With COVID-19 keeping everyone six feet apart, we have decided to create a virtual run that you can complete in a place you choose. This run consists of a 1K, 2K, 3K and 5K option for runners of all ages and experience. Run (or walk) the distance you pick wherever you want. We’ll ship the goodie bag, medal, and personalized bib right to you. All proceeds will support the Compass to Care mission to help children, whose parents have a financial need, access life-saving cancer treatment. Where can I run/walk? Anywhere! This is your virtual run and your opportunity to train for the distance, track your accomplishment, and engage with your community in a virtual way. You can complete the run however you want- sidewalks, paths, treadmill- make this race your own! Want to run with a stroller or Fido? Do it! What items are included with the Quaranteam for Kids with Cancer Virtual Race? The 2020 Quaranteam for Kids with Cancer Virtual Race swag bag rocks! Each participant will receive a race shirt, commemorative tote bag, finisher’s medal, and a personalized bib.
How will I get my swag bag and race packet? If you live close to Park Ridge, IL or the Edison Park neighborhood of Chicago, swag bags can be picked up at a location TBD between 8am and 5pm the week of August 3rd. You also have the option to ship your packet. In order for packets to arrive before race week we will ship the week of July 27th. After that, packets will be shipped within 10-14 business days. The virtual race is currently only open to US addresses within the contiguous United States. At this time, we cannot ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or anywhere internationally.
When do I need to complete my run? Run whenever you want, although the goal is complete your selected distance between August 8-15. With a virtual race, you pick the day that is best for you.
Do I need to submit results to get a medal? Your medal will be mailed to you with your packet, but if you’d like to download a finisher certificate with your results, you can go here to enter your time on your RaceRoster account. Once complete, you will be able to download your certificate and see your leaderboard ranking.
How do I track my distance and time? For the Virtual Run, we accept results on the honor system, but the most accurate tracking is typically via a device with GPS tracking.
What do I do if my goodie bag doesn’t fit? Can I swap it? We do not offer any size exchanges post packet shipment. All changes to sizes need to be made prior to confirming registration. We highly recommend that all participants take care to view the sizing chart on the next page to order the correct size.
