What is 'Moving for Mental Health'?
Moving for Mental Health is a virtual 5K run/walk/move event to help us get active, feeling good, and working together in support of mental health!
How do I participate?
Register for the event and cover 5 KM on July 19, 2020 by running, walking, moving in a wheelchair, skipping - it's really up to you. You can track your time and distance using a run tracking app, such as the ASICS Runkeeper™ app, and participate from your community, backyard, driveway, on a treadmill, or just around your house!
On race day, we will send you an email with a link to submit your results when you are finished! You can then download your finisher certificate and share it with your friends and family!
How do I fundraise?
Once you are registered for the event, your fundraising page will automatically be created! You can customize your page to include your story, a photo, and set a fundraising goal! When you're ready, you can share your page with your friends and family!
Where are the proceeds going?
All proceeds will be donated to Mental Health Research Canada (https://www.mhrc.ca/).
Mental Health Research Canada (MHRC) is a national charitable organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of all Canadians by advancing mental health knowledge. They advance new research that is focused on practical outcomes for Canadians. MHRC also shares knowledge to encourage stakeholders to implement best practices.
Since this is a virtual event, will I still get a goodie bag?
If you register before June 11, you will be shipped a complimentary race t-shirt. All registrants will receive a 'virtual event goodie bag' containing coupons and promo codes from various brands.
