How Does it Work?
- Kicking off on 1 September, complete the Great East Coast Virtual Run! Run or walk the Real Deal, 1630km from Alex Surf Club, Sunshine Coast to Fogarty Park Cairns over a 4-month period, or choose to Race to Rocky – a total of 553km over the same time frame
- Record your distance for each run and have it accumulate so you can see it add additional distance over time; all to achieve the complete 1630km journey north from the Sunshine Coast;
- Compare how far you have gone in relation to the whole event field, your friends, running club or just in order to achieve the challenge!
- Participants will receive virtual badges at key destinations along their journey. These badges will motivate you all the way through to the completion of the event- make sure you get to the finish line
- All entrants receive an exclusive event T-shirt upon entry and provided with a certificate & the chance to purchase additional merchandise, including a medal specific to your distance; technical tees and singlets and our event trucker cap. Have you got what it takes?
Live Event Map
The Great East Coast Run will provide a live and interactive map to show how all entrants are placed on their ultimate journey north. Participants will be able to see how they are placed against their running buddies, club mates, running community and importantly challenge themselves on their own running and fitness journey.
For additional motivation we will also be providing all entrants with prizes as they reach iconic towns along the course, with those who finish the challenge receiving the ultimate bling and personal satisfaction of Achieving the Great East Coast Run Challenge. The map below is an example of what you will see when you begin your journey. This goes live and interactive on 1 September!
