The Alton Miles for Meso is a 5K race and 3K fun run/walk normally held in historic Alton, Illinois. This year's event will be a virtual race and begin on September 26, which is National Mesothelioma Awareness Day, and go through Oct. 2.
Everyone who registers will receive a long-sleeve, moisture-wicking T-shirt. Participants will have from Sept. 26 until Oct. 2 to virtually report their results on the results page. Everyone who reports a result will receive a finisher medal. Please share pictures and join in our social conversations on Facebook and Twitter by using the hashtag #MilesForMeso.
Presented by Simmons Hanly Conroy and coordinated by the Metro Tri Club, all proceeds from the event will benefit the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization. Since 2009, the race has raised more than $400,000 for mesothelioma cancer research.

5K Race Course Map
This year's race is virtual. You can run any 5k or 3K course you would like. The map of what the Alton Miles for Meso course has been in past years is included below for reference.
This year all participants will need to submit their race and walk times on the Miles for Meso Virtual Results Page. This feature will become available on Sept. 26 at 9 a.m. CST and remain open through Friday, Oct. 2 at midnight.
How to Submit Your Time
To submit your run or walk time, go here: https://results.raceroster.com/results/7bchfm4yyvsmt3ak.
- Select either the "5K" or "3K" event.
- Click the "Submit Time" button. (Note: This button will not appear until Sept. 26)
- Follow the prompts to enter your time.
Race participants will also be able to track and automatically submit their times if they have the ACIS RunKeeper Ap using their Apple watches or other fitness tracker device that supports that ap.
