The race in on!
Kick off the dust on your running shoes because we're back! Join us for the Inaugural Central Florida Labor Day 5K! We have been given the final approval to host this race and we can't wait to safely welcome all of you back to racing! Celebrate the social and economic achievements of American workers as we kick off the Labor Day weekend with the Central Florida Labor Day 5K!
This race will take place at the scenic Northeast Regional Park, participants will start on the main park road and run around the park in a loop and finish back on the main road of the park. This is a fast course closed to traffic which makes it perfect for your next PR! Register by 8/19 to be guaranteed a t-shirt and finisher medal!
What is Labor Day?
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
Swag
All participants will receive a finisher medal, performance shirt, koozie and a Labor Day 5K race bib! Participants will also receive a individual results page with a 15 second clip of you crossing the start and finish lines! This video automatically syncs with your time and can be downloaded or shared with friends!
Timing
Chip Timing will be provided by Southern Timing, LLC. All participants will receive a Labor Day 5K race bib with a timing chip on the back. Southern Timing will also be providing Live Results which are available immediately after you cross the finish line! You can also sign up to receive a text message with your results as soon as you finish! Onsite results kiosks will be managed by Southern Timing staff to lookup and share your results while staying physically distant.
Safety
Here at Southern Timing your safety is of the utmost importance to us. This is why we will be taking every precaution necessary to ensure that we can have a safe and fun race. A brief overview of some of the safety precautions we are taking is a rolling wave start in groups of 50, masks encouraged while in the registration and packet pick-up areas but not while running, pre-packaged light snacks and a virtual awards ceremony which will take place on Facebook live following the event at 2pm. We do ask that if you are feeling sick or showing symptoms of COVID-19 leading up to or on the day of the race to please contact us and we will happily transfer you to the virtual race free of charge. Awards
Awards will be given out to the top 3 Overall fastest Male & Female Runners along with the top 3 Male & Female runners in each age group. Age Groups are as follows: 5 & Under, 6-11, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over.
