What is a virtual run?
A virtual run is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, in the park, on the treadmill or on the track. You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself.
You will want to keep track of your run/walk through a GPS application. We recommend using the Asics™ RunKeeper App or any other compatible app.
When is the Race for the Arts?
You can complete your race at any time or date between December 11 and December 12, 2020. Just make sure you finish before 11:59 pm on December 12, 2020.
How much does it cost to register?
Run for the Arts 10K (virtutal) - $30
Run for the Arts 5K (virtual) - $30
Run for the Arts 1 mile (virtual) - $30
Run for the Arts Zero K - $30
I don’t live in the Tampa Bay Area, can I still enter?
Yes of course, you can run this race from anywhere in the world. Please note the date and time differences to ensure that you log a result prior to the cut off of 11:59 pm EST on December 12, 2020.
What ages can participate in the 1 mile run?
All of the races are open to all ages.
Can I complete my race distance over multiple runs/walks?
You can, but to upload your time, you will need to complete the race in one attempt (one continuous effort).
How do I complete the virtual race and upload my result?
You will need to keep track of your run/walk through a GPS application. We recommend utilizing the Asics™RunKeeper App. Once you have finished your race, please head here and select 'Submit My Virtual Result' in order to post your time.
Will I receive a race bib?
Yes! You will receive an email with a printable race bib. If you do not receive this please contact support@raceroster.com.
Do I have to wear the race bib?
No, this is completely optional.
Can I still dress up in festive holiday attire for the virtual 5K?
Yes, please wear your Race for the Arts shirt and additional festive holiday attire is encouraged even though it is a virtual race!
When do I complete my race?
You can complete your race at any time or date between December 11-December 12, 2020 (11:59 PM EST)
Where do I run my race?
A virtual race can be run or walked anywhere, at a location of your own choosing in your local park, on your favorite trail or around your local neighborhood (or even on a treadmill if you like). Please ensure that you are following government guidelines in your country, state or local government area for COVID-19 when choosing your running location. Please note running your event on a treadmill will not be valid using some run tracking apps due to the requirement of GPS, but please refer to your preferred app settings to learn more.
Can I complete my event on a treadmill?
Yes absolutely! Before you start your run, please ensure that your tracking app supports running on a treadmill, as opposed to GPS. Please also ensure you take a photo of your end result that includes distance and time and upload this photo if you are manually entering your race results.
Can I complete my run with other runners?
Yes you can but please ensure that you are following government guidelines in your country, state or local area for COVID-19 when choosing who (and how many) to run with.
Can we enter as a team?
Yes, there is an option within the registration form to create a team or add yourself to your chosen team. Gather all your friends, family and colleagues and set the challenge but please adhere government guidelines in your country, state or local area for COVID-19 when choosing who (and how many) to run with. You may want to create a team under one of the instrument section categories (i,e. flutes, percussion, etc) to help that section win.
Can I raise money for the Tarpon Springs Leadership Conservatory for the Arts?
The proceeds from this race benefit the Tarpon Springs Leadership Conservatory for the Arts. You can make a donation directly to the Tarpon Springs Band Boosters, Inc., via the donation links during registration. The Tarpon Springs Band Boosters, Inc is a 501(c )(3) organization and donations are tax-deductible. In order to set up and share your personal pledge page, please follow the steps you will receive in your welcome email after you register.
Are there any finisher rewards?
Upon completion of your race, and once you have uploaded your results you will automatically have access to your finisher’s certificate which is available for download on the results page. Post photos of you racing and tag us utilizing the hashtags on social media (Facebook and Instagram).
How do you know that runners have completed the correct distance and recorded a correct time?
Results are supplied on an honesty system. We trust that you have completed the distance chosen for your run/walk in one continuous effort and uploaded your total elapsed time (the same as a regular race).
Do I have to submit a result?
No, uploading your results is completely optional.
I have registered but haven't received my confirmation email. What should I do now?
