My Story…
The last half marathon I ran was five years ago on my one-year anniversary of finishing my chemo treatments, and the one before that was the day before my last chemo treatment. (it seemed like a good idea at the time)
I'm the Development Manager at WISH, an amazing charity in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside that supports women involved in the street-based sex trade. Street based sex work is the type of sex work that has the least amount of choice, and is associated with the most amount of violence, and women who do this type of work are overwhelmingly doing so just to survive.
Please consider supporting my run (probably more like a run/walk) so that women who rely on WISH can continue to get opportunities and choices, and can meet their basic needs of food, clothing, hygeine, and shelter...you know.... all the things that you and I take for granted.
