My Story…
Welcome Friends!
I will be participating in the Scotiabank's Virtual '10K' Challenge. This year instead of 'running' (can't say i was all that good at that a few years back anyway), I've created my own 10k-ish challenge to raise money for my non-profit organization Technology for Living (I work here;)).
My plan is to:
10k - in-line skate (yes this is a very cool activity) around Stanley Park
10k - paddle through False Creek to Kits or English Bay and back (eek, not nautical miles, just google kilometres)
21k - bike ride looping around Lions Gate and Second Narrows Bridge
The money I raise will help Technology for Living fund assistive devices for British Columbians.
The work we do support individuals who have spinal cord injuries, muscular dystrophy, MS, ALS, post-polio, as well as other orders affecting the neuromuscular spectrum.
Assistive devices such as google home, automatic door openers, adapted remote controls, and machines that help people cough not only improve quality of life, but facilitate greater independence and confidence in navigating the world around us.
