My Story…
hi! this is my first 1/2 marathon. idk what to say...i'll just wax on runnin' for a moment. i started running in my early 20s after reading Haruki Murakami's "What I Talk About When I Talk About Running." now i'm 35 hahaha i remember at one point writing down a goal to run a marathon by the time i hit 35. 1/2 way there with this effort for WISH Drop-In Centre.
i'm very grateful to be living in these unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, & Tsleil-Waututh First Nations, where the air is clean, the traffic (at 7am) is chill, and that i can get my runs in as the sun rises. it's hard to get up but it's always worth it. i get some of my best ideas during runs (e.g. Water Iron lyrics came to me on a run).
if you feel like pledging, that would be extremely novel for me as a runner, and a nice thing to do for a centre doing good work for women working in and around the DTES.
