My Story…
I've been working at WISH for over 2 years now. I started as a Progam Assistant in the drop-in and soon, started working as the Development & Communications Coordinator.
My experience at WISH has highlighted the value of working for a cause you really care about. I am consistently in awe of the resilience and dedication showcased by the folks who surround me. I'm choosing to run for WISH because every single woman deserves the right to basic human rights.
For almost 40 years, WISH has been a refuge and an essential point of contact for street-based sex workers who have been made vulnerable due to poverty, homelessness, trauma, violence, stigma, and a lack of access to supports and opportunities. It is the largest organization in Canada supporting sex workers and the only drop-in centre in the region supporting them 365 nights a year.
