On Friday June 25th, I am excited to be running for the 8th year on Team Cassie & Friends in support of kids and families affected by Juvenile Arthritis. 

Cassie & Friends is very special to our team at Porte. In 2006, David Porte's daughter, Cassie, was diagnosed with arthritis at the young age of two and shortly after her diagnosis David & Debbie founded Cassie & Friends. Cassie is just one of 24,000 children in Canada living in pain from Juvenile Arthritis (JA) - a serious autoimmune condition that attacks joints and steals childhoods. Children with JA will spend countless hours treating their condition and are often confined to the sidelines in sports, school and life.  

What will the event and fundraising support?

Cassie & Friends has launched a brand new virtual education series for families to hear from experts in their field from across Canada. So far they've held education sessions on mental health, nutrition, uveitis (eye inflammation associated with JA that can lead to blindness) and more, and up next they have a Self-care for Caregivers talk. A topic so important to the challenging times we are currently living in. 

Cassie & Friends has impacted the lives of thousands of families affected by Juvenile Arthritis and they have big goals for the future. This year I am going to support this amazing charity by raising at least $5000. Please show your support by clicking on a donation amount above.
