Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands

We are excited and grateful for this year's team to take on the Falmouth Road Race! Our participants will be running, walking, roller skating their way to 7 miles as usual, but this year is different as we will be doing it especially for a special person we recently lost.

This year our BBBSCCI community suffered a loss of a bright spirit. Jaylynn was a Little in our program and this summer would have marked her 10-year anniversary of being matched with her Big, Beth. She passed away in January 2021 at 19 years old. Beth and Jaylynn embodied our work and were a beautiful representation of how strong and resilient our matches are. One of their first outings together was to volunteer at a water stop at the Falmouth Road Race and committed to that every year until 2020 when the event became virtual due to the pandemic. 

Because of their connection to the Falmouth Road Race, the best way to honor Jaylynn is to dedicate this team to her memory and run for her. We ask that those of you who sign up, do so in Jaylynn’s spirit. 

Beth describes that while she and Jaylynn never did “Big” things, all of the small, simple & ordinary things added up to lifelong memories and an extraordinary friendship. We encourage you to consider joining us this year to be a part of something, that adds up to a BIG impact to support other matches like Jaylynn and Beth.
