OUR FINISH LINE SAYS ALS DONE!
THANK YOU for visiting my fundraising page for the 2021 Falmouth Road Race. I'm proud to be running again this year to raise funds to help in the fight against ALS.
I am running in memory of my friend, Rick Marks who was diagnosed with ALS in October 2016. Sadly, we lost Rick in April of 2018. He was a runner and an avid hiker. Despite the diagnosis, Rick set out to hike the last 600 miles of the Appalachian Trail during the summer of 2017. I was honored to hike a section of the AT in Maine with him and others from Scout Troop 507. I got to see firsthand his persistence and tenacity in the face of this disease. Rick’s hike raised funds for ALS ONE to help defeat this disease and I’d like to continue that mission for him, but I need your help.
I’ve known 2 other families devastated by ALS. Bill sadly passed away in August of 2018 and Derek passed away in 2020. This should not happen to anyone. I want to help ALSONE fulfill its goal to identify a breakthrough treatment or cure for ALS and improve the care now for those battling this disease.
Please take a look at the Rick’s Hike for ALS Blog to be as inspired by him as I am: https://rickshikeforals.org/
