My Story…
This was an unprecedented year made even worse by the loss of my step-father, Kevin T. O'Keefe to Pancreatic Cancer in September 2020. He was 53 years old.
I love to run. I remember I was slated to run a St. Patricks Day 10k just after the world shut down. That race, and every one that followed to this day, was cancelled or went virtual. Kevin was proud of his Irish heritage and I remember being eager to wear my "O'Keefe Strong" gear with matching St. Patricks day celebratory garb to match on that day. I'm confident he would have enjoyed that. Only 6 months later, Kevin died.
It is in his memory that I ask you to help me fundraise in support of the National Pancreas Foundation (NPF) via the Falmouth Road Race Numbers for Nonprofits Programs. I hope to run in his honor at every opportunity. I can't think of a more worthy cause. Pancreatic Cancer is a devastating disease that we just don't understand well enough yet. Every dollar raised will benefit crucial research that may benefit families affected by the disease in the future.
Thank you.
