Help Michael raise money

I'm proud to be running in my 5th Falmouth Road Race in support of Toots Fore Tufts, a non-profit organization, established in 2013, which exists solely to raise funds for the Marc K. Jackson Neuro-Oncology Patient Support Fund at Tufts Medical Center.

So many family and friends have donated and continue to support this wonderful cause year after year. I am truly grateful for your support over the years.

As many of you know, my father-in-law, Tom Gird, was a patient of the Neuro-Oncology Program at Tufts Medical Center. In September 2014, he was diagnosed with brain cancer and underwent surgery and treatment at Tufts. The level of care was amazing. I am happy to be raising funds for such a worthy cause.

My family has wonderful memories of summer vacations spent in Falmouth with Tom. He loved spending time there with his grandchildren. My children loved playing with him in the backyard, going for bike and wagon rides, helping him with yardwork, barbecuing, and just being with him. Tom was a supporter of the Falmouth Road Race - cheering from the sidelines and giving me a ride to the starting line.

All proceeds go to the Marc Jackson Neuro-Oncology Patient Support Fund, which provides families with financial resources as their loved ones undergo brain cancer treatment. The money raised by Toots Fore Tufts goes directly to brain cancer patients and their families to help them with basic life necessities. Recipient decisions are made by the patient's medical team at Tufts..
