The Falmouth Road Race this year will be my first experience fundraising.  I chose to fundraise for Cape & Islands Suicide Prevention Coalition as it tackles an issue that is important to me professionally and personally.  

Losing my stepfather to suicide I learned first hand the pain and confusion that it leaves loved ones. Spending most of my career in mental health, I have seen on an even larger scale the devastation of suicide.

I have also witnessed the benefits of programs like Cape & Islands Suicide Prevention Coalition, providing education and resources.  This includes education for anyone open to learning the language to help individuals who are hurting and considering suicide.  They help break down barriers and stop the stigma associated with suicide and mental health.
