This summer, our BWH team, The Pace Makers, is running the Falmouth Road Race in support of palliative oncology.

Palliative care is an essential service, not only at end of life, but at all stages of illness. Holistic palliative care encompasses healing of the body, mind, and spirit and is offered to reduce suffering, provide support, and assist in planning for the future.  

Palliative teams provide:

Expert pain treatment

Emotional support for patients and families

Help in navigating the healthcare system

Guidance and support with treatment choices

Help maintaining the best quality of life during and after treatment

Nurses are first and foremost advocates. Please help us to provide the resources necessary to support our patients at one of the most challenging stages of their healthcare journey. 

This summer, give the gift of dignity, comfort, and communication to those who need it most.
