My Story…
Hi Family and Friends, I am running in the Falmouth Road Race in August to raise money and awareness around lupus. In December of 2013 our son Joseph was diagnosed with Lupus. Lupus is a chronic (life long) autoimmune disease. Autoimmune means that your immune system- the body's system that usually fights infections- attacks healthy tissue instead. Joseph has had 2 major lupus flares. The 2nd was in March of 2018 where he encountered 7 mini strokes. He takes daily medications including a small dose of chemotherapy everyday. We are so fortunate and grateful for the awesome hospitals and doctors in Boston as well as to the research for the medications to allow for Joseph to live a "normal" teenage and now adult life. Joseph is now 21 at UNH and living his best life! I would be grateful if you would consider a small donation to help support more research and eventually cure lupus.
