My Story…
Many of you know by now that I’ve been taking the last 21+ months to focus on my battle with alcohol on Cape Cod. As I approach 2 years sober, it's become clear to me that none of it would have been possible without the community that has loved and supported me from the second I arrived here.
A huge part of my recovery community has been WellStrong, a nonprofit organization whose fitness, wellness and mindfulness programs help members to grow physically, mentally and spiritually promoting long term recovery. I’ve made lifelong relationships here, and I’m truly grateful for Wellstrong as a foundation of my journey to a better life.
Throughout the pandemic, Wellstrong has been an oasis for the recovery community. Despite having to close their physical doors, they continued to offer online classes, meetings, and a safe space for those in recovery during a time when relapse has skyrocketed.
I'm honored to be able to run the Falmouth Road Race this year on behalf of Wellstrong. I know times are difficult, but if any of you are able to donate to support my run, and more importantly, this incredible organization, it will go a long way towards enabling Wellstrong to reach more people in early recovery like myself.
I appreciate all of you and for anyone out there struggling, PLEASE reach out. Recovery IS possible and you are worth it.
