My Story…
On Sunday, August 15, 2021, I am running IN PERSON the ASICS Falmouth Road Race with Team BMC. It is my personal goal to raise $1000 in support of Boston Medical Center’s (BMC) fight against the opioid epidemic. As a former ICU nurse at BMC I have seen the devastation addiction can cause on the lives of my patients and their families. Boston Medical Center has long led the charge against addiction, tackling substance use disorders with nationally-recognized, innovative services designed for individual needs. BMC’s Grayken Center for Addiction is prided on “meeting patients where they are” in their stage of use and keeping pathways to essential services open and readily available made possible by donors like you. As a current Labor and Delivery nurse I have seen how impactful these services can be in the lives of my patients. Project RESPECT is one of the programs which specifically helps pregnant women who struggle with addition. I have seen this program help and encourage these women to initiate change, bring about hope and change their lives as well as the lives of the babies. By supporting me in my race, you are helping BMC meet the needs of those struggling with substance use and in turn, helping to build healthier communities. This cause is also near and dear to my heart and I see how greatly it can improve the lives of my patients. I hope you will consider supporting my run with Team BMC.
