My RMH Motivation
Hello Friends and Family!
I am wicked excited to announce I have joined the Ronald McDonald House Charities of New England Falmouth Road Race Team for my 3rd year in a row! On August 15, 2021 I will be hitting the pavement to race the historic 7 mile course, while raising critical funds to support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence and the Ronald McDonald House at Boston Harbor.
I started volunteering for this charity in 2014 at the location in Boston Harbor and saw first hand the incredible impact RMH has on families coming from all over the world to seek out medical care to give their child the best chance at survival. These families and their children go through immense emotional, physical, and financial hardship, but RMH gives them one less thing to worry about. RMH provides free and beautiful housing to these families while they are here. Not to mention they also provide family-centered care programs such as pet therapy, STEM activities, home cooked (or catered meals) yoga, arts and crafts and more!
This past year has shown us all the importance of health and family. Despite the pandemic, parents continued to go the distance to ensure their child has access to the world’s best medical care, here in New England. Which is why I am asking for your support now. I need YOUR help to reach and exceed my fundraising goal of $1000!
One of those families is the Krawczyk family, from Canada. The Krawczyk family stayed at our Ronald McDonald House for the last two months. Upon leaving they wrote, "We have been on this cancer journey for the past 4+ years. We did not know that RMH would be an option to our family. It was going to cost us $20,000 CAD to stay in Boston for 2 months. We are SO incredibly grateful that we were able to cancel that apartment and stay here with a serene peaceful suite right on the ocean." The Krawczyk family had exhausted all options. "Hallie, our 12 year old was deemed “medically incurable” and has been through so much. Failed chemo, a failed immunotherapy drug, and most recently Canada had nothing more to offer her. We were fortunate to have an amazing group of Doctor's here in the US. For the first time in 4 years (after being sent to hospice) Hallie is currently cancer free, we are elated!"
I hope I can count on you to support my run by contributing to this very special program to help families like the Krawczyk family :)
If online donating is not your style checks can also be made payable to the Ronald McDonald Charities of New England and should include my name in the memo section or in an attached note. They can be mailed to:

Please accept my sincere appreciation and know that generous supporters, like you, are the reason RMHCNE is able to provide these critical resources to families who need it at the most challenging of times.
Sincerely,
Sarah Goodrich
Description
Each year hundreds of families travel to New England from locations all over the world to give their child access to the best medical care. In doing so, they face enormous hurdles such as navigating the complexities of the health care system, extraordinarily high local housing costs, and excessive emotional and physical stress. At the Ronald McDonald House Charities of New England we remove the stress of daily living and support families to enable them to focus on what really matters: their child’s health and healing.
