Help Laurie raise money

For participating in The 2021 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

My Story…

I'm excited to be running this year's Falmouth Road Race on the Run Like a Girl Scout Team!  Claire and I joined the Sandwich Daisy Girl Scouts this year and had a great year despite Covid challenges of being masked, outdoor only or virtual - not so easy with a group of 5 and 6 year olds!  But we had fun and the girls earned their petals!  As a leader, I would have been lost without the incredibly helpful guidance from Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts.  The GSEMA website provides step by step guidance on how to run meetings and help the girls achieve their goals.  The GSEMA staff was right there to help when I needed extra support.  Your donation today will help me and GSEMA support our girls as they learn to become strong, caring, compassionate members of our community!  Thank you!!

Description

Building strength and confidence in girls is the cornerstone of Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts’ (GSEMA) mission. Girl Scouts allows girls the opportunity to take risks in a safe and supportive environment, challenging them to try new things and build their confidence. Armed with this assurance, girls go on to do great things: leading peers and others, innovating and forging new paths, and thinking outside the box to benefit their families, communities, and beyond. GSEMA membership is 41,000 strong, with girls and adults in 178 communities in eastern Massachusetts.

Girls gain valuable skills in the four pillars of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience: Life Skills, STEM, Entrepreneurship, and the Outdoors. The Girl Scout programming is a collection of engaging, challenging, and fun age-appropriate activities including earning badges, selling cookies, exploring science and the outdoors, and implementing community service projects. The Girl Scout Leadership Experience is a collection of engaging, challenging, and fun age-appropriate activities including earning badges, selling cookies, exploring science and the outdoors, and implementing community service projects.

For over 100 years, Girl Scouts has delivered diverse leadership programming to develop the next generation of strong female leaders with self-confidence and positive values who seek out challenges, maintain healthy relationships, and are committed to improving their communities and beyond. There are currently over 50 million Girl Scout alums; 60% of female members of the 117th Congress are alums, virtually every female astronaut who has ever flown in space is a Girl Scout alum, and every female secretary of state in U.S. history is a former Girl Scout- Madeleine Albright, Condoleezza Rice, and Hillary Clinton.
