My Story…
Hello There! I am excited and honored to be running for the Last Call Foundation's Falmouth Road Race Team on Sunday, August 15th. The Last Call Foundation was founded by Kathy Crosby-Bell, the mother of fallen Boston Firefighter Michael Kennedy, 33, who tragically died along with Lt. Edward Walsh when they became trapped in a fire when the fire burned through their hose. That should never happen to our firefighters. The mission of the Last Call Foundation is to provide funding, education and research to advance the safety needs of the firefighting community. This is a cause very near and dear to my heart. Much more research is needed to reduce the rate of cancer affecting firefighters. I will be running in memory of my late brother-in-law, John Kenney, 48, and my dear friend Frank Flynn, 53, both of the Boston Fire Dept. who passed away from occupational cancer. They were two truly great guys who are very much missed by their families and friends. I also must mention how handsome and hilarious they were! (they will love that!) Our firefighters need our help to enhance their ability to safely and effectively fight fires to protect each of us. Please consider giving back to our firefighters by donating to The Last Call Foundation. Thank you!
