Fundraising for Cures!
This August I will be participating in the Falmouth Road Race in support of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. As some may already know, I have been managing life with ulcerative colitis since I was 10 years old. Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are chronic inflammatory conditions of the gastrointestinal tract. Unfortunately there is no cure yet for either. Treatment is a series of trial and error with various medications, aiming to keep symptoms at ease. I am happy and thankful to say that today my symptoms are under control due to the great support and guidance of both my doctors and family. However, that has not always been the case. I have dealt with my fair share of highs and lows and I know first hand how remission and flares can occur at any time.
The Foundation’s mission is to cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults who have to deal with these diseases, which affects about 1 in 100. I hope you will join me in the fight against Crohn’s and colitis by donating!
