Help Eliza raise money

On Sunday, August 15,  I will be lacing up my sneakers to run the Falmouth Road Race in support of The Italian Home for Children. In my adult life, road races have become a place of connection, synergy, and hope as I bear witness to the collective energy humans can create when working towards a common goal. They have always been notable experiences for me, however -- this race is particularly special to me, as it is my first road race since the COVID-19 pandemic and in support of an organization whose mission I believe so deeply in.

I have worked very closely with The Italian Home in my years with the Boston Public Schools. It is a community and organization whose impact is far beyond measure and one that my heart has always felt very connected to. I am humbled to wear a bib supporting their mission in this year's Falmouth Road Race and would be so grateful for your support in helping me reach my fundraising goal.

Italian Home for Children provides an integrated network of powerful and effective programs to help children and families with emotional, behavioral, and educational challenges thrive in their communities. The devastating influenza epidemic of 1918 orphaned many Italian children of Boston's North End, and the community and clergy responded by establishing the Italian Home for Children to care for these orphans. As decades passed, the needs of the children arriving at the Home began to reflect more complex crises. Today, the Home's focus is providing residential and day treatment services for children of all nationalities with emotional and behavioral needs.
