My Story…
The Lurie Center is the only clinic we have found to be able to care for Anjan and Sachin. They have severe autism and struggle to communicate, regulate their behavior and engage in social interactions. Doctors at the Lurie Center provide individualized care prescribing appropriate medications and therapies that enable the boys to live safely at home and attend school. The boys turned 18 this past year, and the Lurie Center helped guide us through the process of applying for legal guardianship. It's a long road, but the Lurie Center is there every step of the way. We are grateful. The Lurie Center loses money on each patient they see because the time they take to see their patients far exceeds the time they are reimbursed for. Services that we receive cost the Lurie Center >$1,400 ($700 per patient, so the Lurie Center loses over $2MM annually with >3,000 patients and families served). THE GOOD NEWS is that we will match your donation and the Nancy Lurie Marks Foundation will match our donation. So if you give $100, $400 will go to the Lurie Center. If we raise $5K, then the Lurie Center will get $20K. Grateful for your gift.
