For participating in The 2021 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

OUR FINISH LINE SAYS ALS DONE!

Team Double Good Trouble - Becky Mourey and Julie Day!

Updates with each mile completed (see below). 1 mile a day for 7 days is too much right now but if you know Becky you know how strong and determined she is and we honor our Falmouth Road Race commitment to finish 7 miles together.

Please support ALS ONE. They are supporting us.

Becky and I are Team Double Good Trouble. We want ALS to be done and raising funds for ALS ONE in the Falmouth Road Race is our small way of trying to make a big difference. We hope for healthcare reform for every aspect of ALS. Positive changes that make ALS all done is what we're walking for.

Why are we doing this?

A few years ago we walked 26.2 miles together - all the way from Hopkinton in to Boston along the marathon route for the Jimmy Fund. Becky and her family were there for us and there's no way I'm going to be a bystander now. Last year, Becky was diagnosed with ALS and my amazing friend and I are determined to still walk together. We are going to walk one mile every day until we have done the equivalent of the 10K Falmouth Road Race. We will walk a half mile to something fun (think ice cream store, brewery, vineyard, along the coast, on a flat trail, around a beautiful garden, to a picnic bench), rest up then walk back to the car. Wherever Becky wants to go and see to do this - we're going! Becky is a talented music teacher and loves the clarinet. The music is going to be loud on our walks:) Running the road race isn't an option now. Walking a 10K in one go isn't an option now. If we need to slow down the pace and take more rests, have more chocolate, we will but getting it done is our goal.
We are also walking in honor of Lisa Stockman Mauriello.
