Our story…

Sherry Shepherd wished for the little things that would help children with cancer pass the long and scary hours at the hospital: a teddy bear to hug, videos to watch, or a book to read.  Her compassion was far beyond her years, even while fighting her own four year battle with caner, she always though about helping other sick children.  Sherry was only thirteen when she passed away but her dream of helping children is still carried out today, over three decades later.

For the last 36 years, Why Me has worked tirelessly to provide compassionate care to our local childhood cancer community.  Our services range from hospital visits with coffee and donuts, to support groups with a hot meal and warm welcome, as well as family fun events bringing families together to create memories.  Why Me has created a supportive community for these families when they need it most.  We have become a fixture in the lives of nearly 650 families battling childhood cancer in the New England area because of generous support of donors like you.
