The Bay of Fundy International Marathon will not take place in 2021
We regret that due to the large number of unknowns associated with the future trajectory of the COVID-19 pandemic the Bay of Fundy International Marathon committee has made the difficult decision to not offer this event in 2021. While many events have gone virtual, we will not be offering this as an option as we believe the value of our event is in the real experience of participating, as runners, volunteers, spectators or supporters, in our unique set of cross-border races.
There are various discussions taking place about possible small scale local events on Campobello Island and in Lubec - there are wonderful routes to be run in Roosevelt-Campobello International Park on the Canadian side of the border, and between Lubec and the spectacular West Quoddy Head - also the most easterly point in the continental USA - on the USA side. If quarantine is no longer a concern at that time runners would be most welcome to visit our beautiful area and join local runners in these.
While we hope to resume our cross-border Canada-USA events in 2022, we will in the meantime be refunding all runners who were originally registered for the 2020 event and deferred until 2021. Our local food banks would be pleased to accept donations so if runners would prefer their registration fees to be donated to these rather than receiving a refund please email us at racedirector@bayoffundymarathon.com
All 2020 registrants will be notified in advance of our opening of 2022 registration. Other updates and announcements about 2021 and 2022 events will be placed on our website at: https://bayoffundymarathon.com and in the usual online listings, calendars, social media sites and the like.
We hope all our participants stay safe and if you are a runner - just keep on running. If you aren't - well, why not start?

Welcome to our Canadian registration site.

Please note that you will cross an international border between two countries during the race (except the 10K which stays entirely within the USA). You do not have to stop at the border while running, but you must have a passport or other travel documentation valid for travel in Canada and the USA in order to register and these will be reviewed by border agents at the international bridge on the two days before the race.
As a two country event we have two of most things, including registration sites. This is the Canadian site. The USA site is identical, except that it accepts payment in US dollars not Canadian dollars. If you are Canadian or a resident of Canada you should register on this site. If you are a USA citizen or a USA resident you should register on the USA site. Runners from other countries may register on either site.

Runners who would like to raise money for charity are encouraged to support our charity of choice for the year. In even years this is the Campobello Island Community Food Bank, organized locally as "the Clothes Line" and operated by two of our most supportive volunteers. You will probably meet them running the Water Station at the Canadian Fisheries Station on Race Day. In odd years we support the Lubec Community Food Bank run by the Lubec Community Outreach Committee (LCOC). To support our charity of choice simply press the donate button on the left side of this page to make a contribution towards helping needy local residents with food and clothing.

Borders and Passports
Runners in the marathon, half-marathon and ultramarathon all cross the Canada-USA border multiple times. In order to pre-clear you with the border agencies we need you to provide your passport or other travel document information now. In June you will have to show these documents at both the Canada and USA border crossings in Lubec and Campobello when you pick up your race bib. You will then be waved through the border crossings in the runner lane during the event and will not have to stop.
The 10K is run entirely in the USA and passports are not required, unless you want to cross the border while you are here. You will be required to show photo-ID at bib pick-up so we can be sure you are getting the right bib.
