This classic holiday tradition in Asheville, NC includes a professionally chip-timed and USATF certified and fully-marked course, a Run. Eat. Nap. FREE race shirt (through Nov 7th), and an awesome finisher medal that sparkles!
ONLY $20 for participants 12 and under!
To encourage the entire family to come out and run together, all participants 12 and under can register for just $20! That price will stay the same all the way up to the day of the event (discount is automatically applied at check out). Every participant gets a finisher medal, but the free shirt deadline (November 7th) still applies to these registrants.
Avoid the stress of packet pickup - have your shirt + race number mailed to you!
If you can't make it to the day-before packet pickup session, you'd like to sleep in an extra few minutes on race day, or you'd just like to avoid the hassle of packet pickup altogether, this is the option for you! You can purchase the pre-event mailing option up until November 7th at midnight, either during registration or from the race store.
Event Swag
The first 1,500 participants to sign up will receive a commemorative South Asheville Turkey Trot finisher medal that sparkles! We'll also be giving out FREE Run. Eat. Nap. cozy shirts to all participants who register by November 7th at midnight. After that, shirts will be available for $10 during registration in limited sizes and quantities. We cannot guarantee that we will have extra shirts for sale on race day.
Pre-event shipping: If you'd like to skip the packet pickup session, or you'd just like to sleep in a bit longer on race day, you can have your packets mailed to you before the race! This option is available until November 7th at midnight.

The US Department of Veterans Affairs states that more than 6,000 Veterans die by suicide each year, and other statistics show that twice as many First Responders die by suicide than in the line of duty. By gathering together Sheep Dogs who have suffered similar traumas & experiences, SDIA has found that the camaraderie and peer support they receive fosters healing and is critical to their overall well-being. When Sheep Dogs #GetOffTheCouch™, their attitude, motivation and perspective are drastically improved. Your generous support allows SDIA to ENGAGE, ASSIST & EMPOWER our nation’s heroes to Get Off The Couch™ with their brothers & sisters, which prevents suicides in our Veteran and First Responder communities
Your donations will go to the following programs/causes:
- Christmas Eve first responders care packages - will deliver these to every first responder, EMS, and law enforcement in various counties.
- Holiday program - for helping Sheep Dog families in need with a Christmas meal and donations towards children's gifts
- Warrior PATHH for veterans and first responders - This program helps veterans and first responders struggling with PTSD through a 5 day program, followed by 18 months of online meetings and support.
