For participating in Freedom to Move: Run, Walk and Wheel for Dystonia 2021

Our story…

The early signs of Dystonia started for me at the age of 9. I would walk on my left toes, keep my left hand closed tight, speech impediment started. It wasn't until a few years later that I was diagnosed with Dystonia. Back in those days very little information was available about Dystonia. It wasn't until grade 10 that I was started using a wheelchair. For the next 5 years I competed in Ontario games for the disabled (weightlifting, Shotput, 100M Race). In 2015, I had DBS surgery (Deep Brain Stimulation)
