The Trenton Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) presents:

On the Move

Each year, thousands of military families are posted across Canada and find themselves on the move. Similar to COVID-19, postings can be stressful and unpredictable for our military families. From June 19 to July 31, our community is invited to walk, jog, run, bike, or anything “on the move,” to fundraise for the Trenton MFRC.

You do not have to be a member of the military community to participate!

When you register, you'll receive an email with a biography of an imaginary family - fashioned after real members of the military community - and a posting message of where they are going. This simulated posting message is a sample of what real families are receiving this summer. As participants complete their kilometres, they will reach several checkpoints. Each checkpoint will represent some of the real challenges families will experience while they are on the move to get to their new posting. With each metre and kilometre achieved, your family will receive virtual badges until they reach their distanced goal!

The Trenton MFRC is proud of the unparalleled strength that our staff and volunteers have shown through their ongoing support of virtual programming and services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. These are critical resources that respond to the needs of our military families - many of who are on the frontlines! While we are passionate to share what being on the move can look like for military families, we are also excited to raise money for the Trenton MFRC. Now more than ever, the Trenton MFRC needs the generous support from our community to help us meet the unique needs of our families, and every dollar makes a difference.

Did you know?:

• $25 supplies one new military family with a welcome package to support their transition to the community
• $200 provides a military family to access one evening counselling session
• $3,000 enables us to provide individualized programming that focuses on our military youth in military families

When you register for On the Move, you will have access to several prizes based on your total dollars raised, and the top three participants will receive one of the grand prizes, worth over $1,500!

$45 from each $60 registration will be donated on the registrant's behalf to the Trenton MFRC and each registrant will receive a charitable tax receipt and all participants will receive:

• One On the Move Finisher's Medal
• One On the Move digital Finisher's Certificate
