Our Cause
Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little known and poorly understood type of heart attack. Most patients are younger healthy women who do not have the typical risk factors of heart disease. Although less common, it can affect men too. SCAD can recur and can be fatal. Research is needed to identify the cause(s) and the best treatment options.
SCAD is the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, pregnant women & new moms.
SCADaddle
Our 5K chip timed run/walk takes place at Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park in Boca Raton, FL. The course goes along and will sometimes be on the roads.
The run starts at 9:00 am and all participants will be timed.
Awards will be given to overall male and female winners. Medals will be given to 2nd and 3rd place male and female overall and to the top three males/females for age groups: 11 and under; 12-15; 16-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+ |

Chip Timing: We use a disposable chip timing tag that runners receive at packet pick up on their race bibs. It is lightweight and remains attached to the race bib. Runners must wear their race bibs on the front of their clothing in order to be timed accurately. Please do not layer over the bib, hold it in your hand or put it in your pocket. Do not bend the chip. Smart watches such as Garmin and smart phones can interfere with the timing chip frequency. Please do not adjust your watch or phone as you cross the finish line and come through the chute. Disputes for times on Smart watches and smart phones will not be taken into consideration.
