My Story…
Hey guys! Thanks for checking out our page :) Cassy and I are doing a little 60 km gravel ride to raise awareness for Lyme disease research. If you can spare a couple bucks that's great. Otherwise, no worries!
Description
On October 16th 2021, I'm riding to support the G. Magnotta Foundation to benefit the G. Magnotta Lyme Disease Research Lab at the University of Guelph. It is Canada's first dedicated translational Lyme Disease research lab, producing results that will lead to better testing, diagnosis and treatment to benefit all Canadians.
Misunderstood, controversial and underfunded, Lyme Disease is acquired by a bite from an infected tick. It is one of the top 10 most misdiagnosed diseases and it can mimic other serious conditions like MS, ALS and Alzheimer's. Ticks infected with the Lyme bacteria can be everywhere in your everyday life – in cities, parks, your backyard.
The G. Magnotta Foundation is a symbol of hope, compassion and change to thousands of Canadian Lyme Disease patients. Science is Our Weapon. Support Lyme Research.
Unlike other charitable organizations, no funds are used for executive board member salaries, advertising, PR ,speaking engagements or staffing at fundraising events. These activities are all volunteer-driven. The Foundation only incurs essential costs for insurance fees, utilities and accounting services which comprise just 2% of our revenue. That means 98% of donations received go directly to the G. Magnotta Lyme Disease Research Lab to fund research programs, scientists and the high-end equipment that are critical for delivering results.
