Takbo ng Pag-asa: a Virtual Move-a-thon for Leni and Kiko 2022
This doll represents Leni Robredo. Using the design by M. Aves and under the supervision of wood sculptor Charming Baldemor of Paete, Laguna, wood carvers from Pulido (IG: @pulido_cbstudios) used rescued mango wood in creating this doll, signifying Leni’s humble beginnings and her resilience in the midst of adversity and tragedy. Half-blind artisans from the team meticulously hand-painted every doll. The doll’s hard lines and graceful curves pay homage to Leni’s quiet strength towards reaching the finish line, that of being a servant leader for our country. This doll reminds us of our indomitable courage and fervent hope to move, to run, to sprint, to dash towards our dream of a better Philippines for every Filipino. Through this doll, we hold our beautiful future in our palm.
