My Story…
Hi!
Thank you for taking the time to check out my page and thanks in advance for any donations you send my way.
I'm very excited to participate in RUN12, in support of the Canadian Centre for Mental Health and Sport (CCMHS), co-founded by my lovely friend Krista.
While I've never competed in any sports, solo sports (including running) have allowed me to effectively manage my mental health during the past year of lockdowns and uncertainty. Exercise/moving our bodies can be an effective way to manage stress, anxiety etc, but for professional athletes their sport can do the opposite. As mentioned on the CCMHS website, athletes may face more mental health challenges than the general population; personal and social barriers often prevent athletes and coaches from seeking help; there is a lack of specialists who can address athletes' mental health challenges. CCMHS is hoping to change this.
Since I love a challenge, I'll be participating in David Goggins' 4x4x48 challenge to hit my marathon distance for RUN12: 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. That’s a lot of miles (48 to be exact, approx. 78 km) on not a lot of sleep.
Support my wild idea to run two marathons in one weekend while at the same time supporting a great cause via the amazing work the CCMHS is doing.
I very much appreciate any amount, large or small, you're able to donate.
Donate to help Lindsay raise money for RUN12’s fundraising campaign.
