Do you ever just lay in bed at night and feel a pain? Maybe in your chest?  Maybe in your jaw? Or your fingers start to go numb and you start to panic a little? Your mind and your heart start racing.. is this happening again? Is this the one that's going to take my life? Is it really THAT bad or am i working myself up into a worry? Do I need to chew an aspirin... or 4? You listen to your husband snoring next to you and picture your little boys sleeping peacefully in the room next to yours and you wonder how their lives would change if your heart stopped beating tonight. THIS IS MY REALITY. I, and thousands of others, deal with this new reality every day and the numbers are growing. More and more women (and some men) are being diagnosed with SCAD every day. Knowledge of what this is has spread drastically even in the past 2 years since I've been diagnosed, but it's still alarming the number of doctors, nurses etc have no idea. They have NEVER heard of this. So many women being sent home from the hospital being told they have anxiety and just need to de-stress to then go into cardiac arrest hours later.  Knowledge is everything and there is still so much unknown. I do not share this for sympathy, I share this because people need to know. Please help me spread the word - Share your knowledge of what this is! Please help us raise money for research - help find out what causes this. What the genetic links are. How we can save lives and stop the uneccessary death of so many young women. $1 or $1,000 it ALL helps.
