Our story…
On 11/11/2021 I woke up at 3am with severe upper back pain that quickly spread to my chest and arms and I got very sick. My partner David got me to the hospital quickly which saved my life. The doctor was quick to identify it as a SCAD heart attack and luckily I didn’t need any stents. I was told the artery dissection caused a 100% blockage STEMI heart attack and I was very close to dying. I have been seen by the best doctors at the Mayo Clinic and they were unable to find a cause and I have a 15% chance of it happening again.
I’m so grateful and lucky to still be here and be able to tell my story.
Please donate to help research why this type of heart attack happens in healthy young people, mostly women. It needs to be better understood so it can be prevented in the future.
