Get outside, get active, and help support Avalanche Canada with the Backyard Backcountry Challenge. This is not a race. It’s not about the fastest or longest journey. The Challenge is to motivate, energize, and encourage you to share your backcountry activities.
Travel safely and check avalanche.ca before you go.
Starting on Friday, April 1 05:00am PST until Tuesday, April 19 12:00am PST participants have 19 days to log as many vertical meters as possible. The goal is to climb the equivalent vertical of Mount Everest, the highest point on the planet at 8,849 metres or 29,028 feet.
Download the FATMAP app.
Use the download link sent after & connect your FATMAP account with your tracking device (, Garmin, Strava – instruction guide HERE) that your tracks get automatically sent to your FATMAP account.
