My Story…
In October 2022 I lost my best friend, my mom, to Pancreatic Cancer. By the time we found it, like many others, it was Stage IV and there was nothing we could do. Her battle was short, but I’ve never seen a person so strong or courageous. I carry her strength and courage with me today, amongst the many other amazing qualities my mom possessed that I am inspired to earn myself.
My mom didn’t have a chance to fight, but I do. I can fight to spread awareness, to drive action, and create a world in which Pancreatic Cancer doesn’t exist. I can fight so that some day, no one will have to endure the pain the she had or the heartache that I feel. The best way I know how is through running, a sport I have come to love over the years, and a sport my mom loved to photograph.
