My Story…
This is my first summer in Ottawa. My favourite thing about living in the National Capital Region has quickly become access to public beaches and swimming. I was thrilled to discover the NCC's open water swimming courses at Leamy and Meech Lake!
As a kid, I kept active and healthy by swimming competitively with the Oshawa Aquatic Club. I spent sunny summers with my family jumping into lakes at Ontario Parks.
Now, in my new home, I am so excited to be blending my love for swimming and for fresh water by participating in the 2022 Riverkeeper Open Water Swim. Cheer me on in the 4km race!
Swimmable water is a gift. You can help protect and promote the Ottawa River watershed by making a donation. Please help me reach my personal goal of raising $500.00 and my team's goal of raising $750.00.

Ottawa Riverkeeper has been bringing people together to protect and promote the ecological health of the Ottawa River and watershed for over 20 years! With a watershed bigger than the size of England, measuring 1,271 km (from source to mouth), the Ottawa River is home to more than 24 imperiled species, such as the American eel and the Hickorynut Mussel.
Your donation will help to fund vital programs like the Pollution Hotline, our Watershed Health Assessment & Monitoring program, our Riverwatch network of incredible volunteers, and more!
