Through individual pledges and participation, and through the support of many generous corporate sponsors, The Kitchener Kids with Cancer Run has become a successful annual fundraising event. It is our objective to organize a fun, safe and healthy athletic event for the citizens of Waterloo Region and beyond, while maintaining a community responsibility to local charitable organizations and their causes.

COVID-19 Policy
If you do not attend due to self-assessment, you can defer your entry for a $15 deferral fee by e-transfer to info@runwaterloo.com by 3pm on September 11, 2022. If the race is cancelled due to COVID-19, then your entry is deferred to 2023 at no cost. (Until July 11th midnight, all signups had free deferrals included in their participant waiver.)
Participants are encouraged to use their own discretion and take health measures as appropriate: screen, distance, personal hygiene, mask, vaccinate, etc. These are voluntary measures that, under current guidelines, will not be enforced. Run Waterloo will take additional measures to reduce touchpoints that will be communicated to participants.
Run Waterloo took two full years off of running live events, and when we came back, it was with a successful event in February 2022 (read more here). Our work with the Region of Waterloo Public Health and Athletics Ontario is to ensure, as much as we can, that these events are safe, responsible, and enriching to people and the community at large.
Run Love
This event is part of Run Waterloo's Run Love series.
More than just what you would want from a run: a great course, t-shirt, post-race food, medals, and all the family, friendship and fun you expect, Run Love also lets you exercise your heart as a major fundraiser for a local charity!
Fundraising Prizes and 50/50 Draw
Top female fundraiser will receive a 14-karat, yellow gold, paperclip link style bracelet from the Raffi&Co collection. Retail Value: $750.00 (before taxes).
Tope male fundraiser will receive a game played and signed hockey stick of Mitch Marner.
Top child fundraiser will receive, Restaurant gift card, move passes and Crazy Fort.
All fundraisers who raise $500 or more will get a good hoods sweatshirt.
Don’t forget to bring some cash on Race Day for the 50/50 draw. Arm length of tickets for $20.
Registration Options
REGISTRATION POLICY: All entries are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable. There are no exceptions once a person has registered.

Drop off: At Runners’ Choice, 55 Erb St E, Waterloo by Tuesday September 6 at 5:00 p.m.

After these dates, entries will only be accepted at Kit & Chip Pickup.
RACE WEEKEND - REGISTRATION AND KIT PICKUP

Non-Participants
A donation of your choice (per vehicle) to POGO will be required to gain admission to the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum. Each non-participant will be given a gold Pediatric cancer ribbon to identify that they have donated to POGO to gain entrance into the park. Thank you for your support!
Race Start
Races start at Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum, 10 Huron Rd, Kitchener
9:00 a.m. Timed 5 KM & 10 KM races
9:05 a.m. Untimed 5 KM walk
Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum and Doon Heritage Village are located in Kitchener, Ontario. The museum is 3 km north of Highway 401 at Interchange 275, on Homer Watson Boulevard; or 5.7 km south of the Homer Watson Boulevard Exit on Highway 7/8. Directional signs are located on both Highway 401 and Highway 7/8. Follow the blue and white "M" (for Museum) signs along Homer Watson Boulevard.

Course features:
The 5 KM route will be one loop. The 10 KM event does two loops of the 5 KM route.
The entire course route will be run through the grounds of the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum and the paved bike paths through Homer Watson Park.
Each KM is marked and is clearly visible. Water Stations: 2 on the 5 KM course / 4 on the 10 KM course. Courses are certified distances. Courses are subject to change pending official approval, course certifications, or construction issues.
The loop is approximately 30% gravel and 70% paved pathway, with a short grass section.
About 30% of the course (including the start/finish) is on the private property of the Doon Heritage Village, and is not publicly accessible without paid entry.
Runners must stay to the left on all paved sections.
Volunteers and participants can park at the Waterloo Regional Museum.
No animals allowed, other than service animals.
Time Limit:
The time limit to complete the course is calculated at 10 minutes per kilometer. Starting at the half way mark, if a participant does not reach a km mark by this calculated time, the participant may be required to continue unassisted by race support. Participants are asked to familiarize themselves with the course route if this situation might be a possibility to them. We wish to minimize the disruption caused by our event to the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum and Homer Watson Park. We value their support, and trust you understand our position.
