Our mission is to empower older adults by providing the support they need to live connected and meaningful lives. We have carefully chosen the selected charities to receive funds from Strides for Seniors with a focus on directing funds to areas that directly benefit our seniors.
Humber River Hospital Foundation
As our population ages so does the demand for more supports to better meet the needs of our seniors. At Humber River Hospital we recognize the importance of collaboration between hospitals, primary care providers and community health organizations to allow for early detection and intervention, and better health outcomes. Working together, with partners in the community and introducing important assessment tools, we will expand our Hospital and community services to help keep vulnerable seniors out of emergency departments, provide more access to care in their residences and ensure better care outcomes when they leave hospital care.
Humber River was able to use the $56,000 received from the 2021 UniversalCare Strides for Seniors to support the following programs: Humber River Hospital Dementia Initiative, Preview Emergency Department and Scope+ For Seniors.
This year’s funds will be directed to the above initiatives as we as funding Depression Training for our frontline staff.
With your support, Humber will be able to continue responding to the evolving needs of our seniors with innovative approaches to care throughout our Hospital and community, so that more seniors have access to the care they need and deserve to remain healthy and independent longer.
