The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo has been a well-known community symbol for over 90 years. We host, educate, and inspire a global audience of nearly 1.3 million people every year. Our legacy of taking action to sustain the world’s wild places and contributing to our community’s vibrant cultural fabric has solidified our place in the hearts of the people we care about most – Calgarians.

The Wilder Institute oversees the Calgary Zoo’s conservation portfolio, locally and globally, and will continue to be a force of nature for making the world a wilder place. The Wilder Institute collaborates with local and global partners to develop science-based solutions that help wildlife and people. These efforts to help endangered species, restore ecosystems, and improve human livelihood are simply trying to make the world a better place.
