As a non-profit, community-based organization, Avalon Sexual Assault Centre has been at the forefront of direct service delivery for over 36 years. Avalon is the only sexual assault centre in Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), and the only organization to offer services that are trauma-informed to survivors. As professional counsellors, educators, health practitioners and advocates, we are committed to supporting those who have experienced sexualized violence and to help them on their healing journeys. We aspire to a world in which individuals are empowered and mobilized to share responsibility in creating communities free from sexualized violence.
