I am proud to run for Team Transplant this year to support the Centre for Living Organ Donation at UHN.

As part of my training to be a nephrologist, I had the privilege to witness first hand the benefits of kidney donation. Kidney transplantation is the best available treatment for kidney failure. When the liver fails, there is no "dialysis" option available- and a liver transplant is the life saving treatment. 

The miracle of living organ donation became personal last year when our friend Brandon Gerson was in need of a liver donation. Thanks to the selfless act of kindness and gift of life from Susan Anderson, Brandon is doing great- and is running in the Yorkville Run with Susan this year to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of Susan's gift. 

Organ donation is miraculous, and life-saving, but there is so much more for the medical community to learn and research in this area. I am excited to raise funds to support UHN's Ajmera Transplant Centre and help move the needle forward.

Sign up and join our team at the 2023 Yorkville Run! My husband, Jordan, co-founded this run 14 years ago to benefit local charities. It is an incredibly fun 5K, you can run or walk. It's a really fun celebration of running and community. Charlie, Jordan and I hope to see you there!
